Things I Love – 26

I love altered perceptions.Pit-y

There is a great deal of prejudice attached to certain dogs; Dobermans, Chows, …Pit Bulls. Even mutts with a bit of a bully breed bloodline are viewed negatively. It is very unfortunate and wrong. I’d say 90% of those dogs that I’ve come across have been sweet, kind, affectionate. Pit Bulls especially – they are gregarious and almost clown-like in their play.

D was one of those who avoided Pits, having heard all the horror stories and urban legends. Between Cesar Millan and his beloved dogs (R.I.P. Daddy) and our trips to the dog park, he has come to see what truly awesome canines they are (or can be). He is even disappointed if the puppies’ new Pit Bull friends don’t show up.

It is just a small manifestation of human’s ability to have our minds changed
