I Meant To Do My Work Today

Posted on | March 26, 2010 | 3 Comments

I was going to write a post today about Arizona moving closer to a concealed carry without a license state.

But I was tired. And my puppy was sore. I was tired because my puppy was sore; worried about him all night, got up early to go to the vet*. So, I brought the dogs in the house, laid a blanket for them and a comforter for me and we all took a nap together on the floor. Found out Cash likes to snuggle up to my feet and Tango, who likes to sleep on his back, seems to “talk” through his dreams. It was pretty sweet and very relaxing.

Perhaps I can get that post written tomorrow….

* Still not sure what is wrong, he is limping pretty bad but no obvious break per the x-ray. Anti-inflammatory shot & pain killers for a few days. Oh, and no roughhousing – yeah, we’ll see how that goes.

Poor little guy! It’s always wrenching to see them hurt and not know how to help them.

Have you checked his paws for thorns? Our little friends regularly get thorns and cactus needles jammed flush in their pads.

Yep, the paws were my first check – nothing. Of course, the Vet checked them, too.

He is limping a lot, but doesn’t flinch when you touch or bend the leg or paws anywhere. Hard to get a read from him – and no help looking at the x-rays. And, like you said, wrenching to not know how to stop the pain. I wish he could just tell me what hurts and how.

One of the reasons I didn’t want to get another dog (or 2) is that I get completely heartbroken when they are sick or hurting. I am too attached to my little angels.

If only they could talk…on second thought, maybe that’s not such a good idea. 🙂

It’s difficult to see them in pain, because of how much goodness they bring into our lives. I hope he heals quickly. Don’t hover too much, they learn very quickly.
