Us = Bad, Them = Misunderstood

Yet another Hollywood type (who lives in NY) is unclear on the concept.
Why do they insist that the US must be bad and that there is some way we must understand where the terrorists were coming from? Somehow I doubt that she would question how a rape victim “may have knowingly or unknowingly contributed” to their attack.
