How To Get Hits to Your Site

Posted on | August 25, 2004 | 4 Comments

I just received an email newsletter from one of our local bands giving me the scoop on upcoming shows. Generally their emails are pretty lame; multiple font faces & sizes, poor writing…
This one had a little something extra. Instead of giving a link to their site, which would make it so much easier on their audience, they said

~ for more schedule info, look up our website on your browser by typing in [band name] in the search window~

WTF? How unclear on the concept can you be? If you want someone to click through, give them something to click on – don’t make them work for it.

They have a site (standard Front Page template – ugh) but they need someone with a clue to promote it, and them. The newsletters they are doing now are beyond bad.
