The bookkeeper was in today and this was just one of our frustrating exchanges:
her: Did the taxes get paid last week?
me: I didn't pay them, I believe M was going to come in and do that
her: So can you tell me whether or not they got paid?
me: No, but M said that she was coming in on Friday to pay them. If she did she would have left you the receipts.
her: Yeah, I've got the receipts.
me: ?????!!!!!
