Back On His Heels

Talk about being off balance. Just today, Barack Obama has said that his answer to the abortion question at Saddleback may have been, "too flip", that he "wouldn't rescind the Bush tax cuts right away" and that, "Sarah...uh...Palin....uh...is....probably.....uh.....probably.....even closer....uh....to...uh George...uh...Bush....than John...McCain...OK?" (honestly, these are the people that complained about George Bush's speaking ability?)

Heh

UPDATE: Geez, how scared must Obama be to make this claim?

Somehow, he left it out of his two memoirs, but this morning, Barack told George Stephanopoulos that he really thought about joining the military, but chose not to because we weren't in a war at the time.

Yes, because being a member of the ROTC has no obligations... wait, it does!

It is worth while to note this is the attitude of ALOT of Americans- enlistment goes up when wars occur. Admitadly, after Nam, this changed.

Not sure what your point is there, Sam.

Obama, who never mentioned any consideration of joining up previously even when he mentioned having to register with selective service, decides this week that, "yeah, I thought about joining but decided not to because there wasn't a war" Random and completely unbelievable.

If he never considered joining, I am fine with that. To throw this whopper out there after all this time - stupid and desperate.

Yes because he put this out in a huge news bulliteen- wait, it was a responce to a reporter.

" The aspiration was not mentioned in either of his two volumes of memoirs.

Mr Obama was asked by George Stephanopoulos of ABC's "This Week" programme whether he'd ever thought about military service and replied: "You know, I actually did. I had to sign up for Selective Service [a means of conscription in case of war] when I graduated from high school.

"And I was growing up in Hawaii. And I have friends whose parents were in the military. There are a lot of Army, military bases there.

"And I actually always thought of the military as an ennobling and, you know, honourable option. But keep in mind that I graduated in 1979. The Vietnam War had come to an end. We weren't engaged in an active military conflict at that point. And so, it's not an option that I ever decided to pursue.""

So he thought about it a moment, but didn't put it in his memoirs... well, it could be because it is completely unimportant.

Or are you telling me he never thought of military service?

Ah, but he was asked the same question before - and he addressed the selective service registration before - but he never mentioned he had "considered joining" the military were it not for a lack of current conflict.

Somehow, every other time he mentioned that period of time and the selective service, he left that out. Until now.

? Do you have more linky or are you going off the books? Cause they clip alot out of books. Or you could be simply saying it with no backing.

Of course, if he were lying as you are (constantly) implying, it makes ZERO sense that he would suddenly change his statements know- he is aware as we all are of how Kerry was painted.
