PCM proudly announces our 2008 Summer Class Schedule for our new location at 7801 N. Black Canyon Highway in Phoenix!  Classroom sessions are one hour, once a week for six weeks.  The fee is $60.00.  That is just $10.00 a class!  See listings below for classes, start dates and times.  For detailed class descriptions, please call 602.353.9900 or visit our website at www.PCMRocks.org.  Registration has begun online or by phone, so reserve your spot today!

Guitar - Share in the joy of playing guitar by learning basic skills such as proper hand positions, posture, note reading and playing, chords, finger picking (classical technique), and pick technique.  Basic fret board theory will be introduced. Note: You must bring your own guitar.  Notebook and pencil recommended.

Beginning Youth Guitar (ages 8-14) - Monday 10:00-11:00am or 11:15-12:15pm.  First class: 6/09/08

Advanced Guitar (ages 8-14) - Wednesday 4:00-5:00pm. Note: Prior Experience Required.  First class: 6/11/08 

Children's Guitar Ensemble (ages 8-14) - Thursday 1:30-2:30pm.  First class: 6/12/08 

Guitar Ensemble (ages 8+) - Thursday 6:45-8:00pm.  First class: 6/12/08

Advanced Guitar (ages 14+) - Thursday 8:00-9:00pm.  First class: 6/12/08

Flamenco Guitar (ages 8-14) - Thursday 5:30-6:30pm.  First class: 6/12/08

Piano/Keyboard - Learn basic piano skills such as proper hand position, posture, note reading and technique.  You must bring your own keyboard.  Full sized and weighted keys preferred.  Notebook and pencil recommended.

Beginning Piano/Keyboard (ages 8-14) - Tuesday 4:00-5:00pm.  First class: 6/10/08

Advanced Piano/Keyboard (8+) - Wednesday 11:15-12:15pm. Note: Prior Experience Required.  First class: 6/11/08

Voice/Singing - What does it take to have a great voice or be the next Arizona Idol?  What is 'good' singing?  Learn about voice technique, proper posture, projection, song interpretation and more! 

Super Singing (ages 8-14) - Tuesday 5:30-6:30pm.  First class: 6/10/08 

Advanced Super Singing (8+) - Friday 2:45-3:45pm. Note: Prior Experience Required.  First class: 6/13/08

My Musical! (ages 8-14) - Friday 4:00-5:00pm.  First class: 6/13/08 

Singing for Adults (14+) - Friday 5:30-6:30pm.  First class: 6/13/08

Intergenerational Choir (ages 8+) - Friday 6:45-8:00pm.  First class: 6/13/08

Parent/Tot Music Time (tots ages 6 months - 4 years) - This class engages a parent (or child caregiver) and tot to embrace bonding through the power and joy of music by engaging in fun activities such as dance, songs and music making with child friendly instruments.  Your child's musical and educational skills are developing as well as language acquisition and interpersonal skills. 

Monday 5:30-6:30pm.  First class: 6/10/08

Wednesday 10:00-11:00am.  First class: 6/12/08

Thursday 10:00-11:00am.  First class: 6/13/08

Growing Young Musicians (ages 5-8) - Children will learn and explore about music from around the world!  They will get a hands-on experience with PCM's petting zoo of instruments, learning about strings, percussion, winds and melodic percussion. 

Thursday 11:15-12:15pm.  First class: 6/12/08

Violin - Learn violin techniques including posture, hand position, and note reading in a classroom setting while participating with fun songs and games.  Students will need an appropriate sized violin (may be purchased/rented from a local music dealer).

Beginning Violin (ages 8-14) - Wednesday 1:30-2:30pm.  First class: 6/11/08

String Ensemble (ages 8-14) - Wednesday 2:45-3:45pm. First class: 6/11/08 

Percussion- These classes entail hand and mallet percussion, understanding rhythms and styles. Latin percussion introduces styles from Latin America including Mambo, Merengue, Samba, and Afro-Cuban.

Latin Percussion (ages 8-14) - Thursday 4:00-5:00pm.  First class: 6/12/08 

Snare! (ages 8-14) - Saturday 1:30-2:30pm.  First class: 6/14/08.

Musicality - Learning about Ear training, music theory, composition and song writing:

Ear Training - Saturday 9:00-10:00am. First class: 6/14/08

Music Theory - Saturday 10:00-11:00am. First class: 6/14/08 

Composition & Songwriting - Saturday 11:15am-12:15pm. First class: 6/14/08

Private lessons - are available for a wide variety of instruments including guitar, piano, voice, percussion, violin and flute.  Fee is $40.00 per hour or $20.00 per 1/2 hr.  A $10.00 one-time registration fee required.  Registration is available online.
