Political Wagering

Bodog allows you to not only bet on sports, but also entertainment, politics....

Currently, they have wagers available for the Golden Globes, the Grammys, and such ground breaking concerns as "Will Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale have a baby girl or boy?"

You can wager on business: Will Apple discontinue the iPod Shuffle by July 4, 2006? ("Yes" is slightly favored)

Also in the pool, politics.
In President George W Bush's 2006 State of the Union address, how many times will the President say the words: Patriot Act?

  • 0-2 times - 2/1
  • 3-5 times - 3/2
  • 6-9 times - 3/1
  • 10 or more times - 7/1

In President George W Bush's 2006 State of the Union address, how many times will the President say the word: Evil? Same odds:

  • 0-2 times - 2/1
  • 3-5 times - 3/2
  • 6-9 times - 3/1
  • 10 or more times - 7/1

Interestingly, Will the US Patriot Act be renewed by February 3rd , 2006 ? is a pick 'em. The odds makers don't even have a leaning on it. Hmmmm?

BTW: The Dixie Chicks are nominated for Best Country Song, I didn't even know they released anything this year. It certainly hasn't been getting airplay on our Country stations here - which may explain why it is going off at 12/1 (the favorite in this category is Bless the Broken Road by Rascal Flatts - great song.)
