I love my digital frame

Frame Shots
(Just a tiny sample of the hundreds of shots loaded on that frame)

I originally bought a frame, and processed the pictures, for my mother as a Christmas gift.

I enjoyed the results so much that when I saw a frame on sale a few months later, I bought one for myself. I really need to add some new pictures, but there are enough there to amuse & delight me for quite a while. No matter how many times I view them, they still make me smile.

Things I Love – 27

CarrotI love the way my dogs eat carrots.

I tried to get a good shot every time we gave them one, but they refuse to pose. They nibble them little by little, like a rabbit. They are constantly moving and every shot was a blur, even if I managed to catch a glimpse of the carrot in the pic, you couldn’t tell what it was.

This was the best of the lot – you’ll just have to let your imagination do the rest.. :-)

28 Things

I love this Flickr challenge.

It has been so fun to see what everyone comes up with – and such an eye-opener to always be on the lookout for the good things.

Trails

I love snail trails.

I am completely sick of this rain; dreary, gray, cold, wet….

But…after the rain, you find these amusing, glistening trails all over the sidewalks. They are random and sparkly (and completely disgusting when you think about it too much). I remember following them like a treasure map as a child.

And I can’t help a little smile when I see them.

I love the pattern revealed when this tree was cut down.

StumpI discovered it one rainy morning while walking the dogs. I was fascinated by all the individual rings, and the colors were so rich when it was wet. I thought a creative person could slice apart discarded trunks and make interesting furniture.

I got this picture of it a few days later, but it was dry so it literally pales in comparison. I had planned on going back and getting a nice, deeply saturated shot – but when I went back, they had ground all the stumps at the park. Timing…

So, it’s a shot of something I loved – but I’m not crazy about this weak representation of it.

FrappeI love coffee

I love chocolate

I love finding new things

I love finding new ways to enjoy coffee & chocolate.

So, when I walked into McDonald’s today and saw this new (at least to me) drink, “Frappe”, I just had to try it. Bad idea – because it was fantastic and now I’m hooked.

It is what a Starbucks Frappuccino wishes it were…but larger…and cheaper.

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ Definitely love ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

I love old photo albums.
Albums

And having somewhere to post the pics after I scan them.

I wonder if kids growing up now will have the same joy on finding these old treasures, flipping through page after page of frozen, forgotten memories. Their whole lives are captured and stored digitally, perhaps that will make those memories more easily accessible… so will they ever get this burst of happy nostalgia?

For me, going through my mother’s old albums has always been one of my favorite ways to spend an afternoon.

Flowers

I love these trees.

I have no idea what they are, but I see them all over the city. They are just a burst of happy white flowers, I can’t help but smile when I see them. They seem to also be a haven for the bees, if you get up close you can see how alive the blooms are with activity. Glorious.

Not sure it would be a great choice for my yard, though, as it seems to leave quite a mess below – but I sure am glad there are homeowners willing to put up with that so I can enjoy them :-)

Yummy on the side

I LOVE this dressing.

I don’t like fish, so when D is in a sushi mood, I get teriyaki chicken. At Mr Sushi, the meal comes with a large salad and this amazing dressing. I have no idea what is in it; sesame, cucumber…? I just know that when my salad is gone, I clean out the dressing dish with my fingers (much to D’s embarrassment)

I can’t help it, I’m obsessed!

(I don’t love that my camera battery was nearly dead, this shot is all fuzzy)

(Yeah, I skipped one)

Hip

Today I love L’Oreal H.I.P. eyeshadow in “Showy”.

I discovered long ago that teal was the best accent for my blue eyes, but it’s been years since I’ve found the right shade. A stop at CVS not long ago revealed a buy-one-get-one sale on L’Oreal cosmetics. A deal like that was too good to pass up and yielded this gorgeous teal combo, as well as a stunning bronze duo called “Gilded”

“Gilded” I like, but “Showy” I ♥ love♥
