Woke up at 5:15 (’cause D had a mid-morning tee time) but didn’t get up till 6:45 (’cause it wasn’t my tee time ;-) )

Walked/jogged/ran with the dogs – but didn’t even get in 2 miles due to my stupid, screaming knees. Still, there was a dog obedience class at the park yesterday, so the pups had a veritable sniff fest. And I ran enough to work up a bit of a sweat, so…win.

Cleaned up the back yard (how do they poop more than they eat?), cleaned the bird cage (speaking of poop) and gave the dogs a bath.

And now – - – settling in to enjoy Red Eye, the Sunday paper and the yummy iced coffee D made for me before he left for the golf course.

Next; shower, shop for ingredients to make some chocolate ice cream, laundry while making ice cream….

Life is pretty darn good.

UPDATE: Ice cream made and setting up in the freezer, laundry ongoing LOL

Mmmm…..homemade ice cream. Now we may have to make some.

It may not be fair to call it ice cream, since I use non-fat milk, but it is still yummy.

I prefer to make flavors you can’t normally find in the store, but D likes chocolate. So, chocolate it is this time.

My wife is a purist so it’s usually vanilla and a batch of the Ben and Jerry’s recipe hot fudge.

Last time we used liquid nitrogen to make ice cream – it was interesting.

There is a lot to be said for a good, solid vanilla. The ideal base (or topper) for just about anything else dessert related.

However, that’s another one of those “I can get it in the store” flavors – I like to experiment. The best, so far, was the pumpkin flavor – but I am looking forward to many new concoctions this summer.
