Three riders attempted to cross the flowing Gila river Friday and found themselves in need of rescue. One of the horses died and one has been stranded on a sandbar ever since. An anonymous donor came forward to pay for the cost of airlifting the poor animal to safety, much to the relief of his owners.

However, on the news report I was watching they said, “The horse has been stranded since he tried to cross the Gila river last week”. As if the horse made that decision on his own. Most animals are smart enough to avoid unnecessary dangers – only humans are fool enough to try to cross a flowing river, and take their horses with them.
