I love the pattern revealed when this tree was cut down.
I discovered it one rainy morning while walking the dogs. I was fascinated by all the individual rings, and the colors were so rich when it was wet. I thought a creative person could slice apart discarded trunks and make interesting furniture.
I got this picture of it a few days later, but it was dry so it literally pales in comparison. I had planned on going back and getting a nice, deeply saturated shot – but when I went back, they had ground all the stumps at the park. Timing…
So, it’s a shot of something I loved – but I’m not crazy about this weak representation of it.
