To Tweet or Not To Tweet

Yeah, I am way behind the times. I have a couple of friends who have been pushing Twitter for ages, but I just never saw the point. Like MySpace, which I played with enough to set up a large selection of music friends, but now don't log into often enough to know what those bands are up to, Twitter just seemed kind of silly to me.

But I keep getting pressure - and now I have a Twitter app on my phone.

So, maybe I'll try it.

Do any of you use Twitter? Why did you decide to sign up? What do you use it for? Did you Twitter for a while then lose interest and stop updating? Should I follow you - would you have any interest in following me?

I've been tweeting from my pc for about 6 months. It's fun sometimes.

I have been on it for 1.5-2 years, something like 4400 updates. I like keeping up with social networking sites and in fact I often tweet new blog posts and I get regular hits from my followers. I use it for regular conversations with friends on it, update where I am travelwise, and just enjoy it. I don't use it actively on my phone because I don't have the data plan for it, but maybe on my next phone I will (if someone ever gets to writing a Google phone review maybe I'll get that)

I already added you, add me if you want or not, your choice.

ok, After I didn't blog for a year and came back there is all this "twitter" stuff and I have NO idea what this even is. What is it and why is it used and how does it work?

Umm... ok, I just watched the dumb little video demo they had on this thing and all I can ask again is what is the point of this? With email, phones, cell phones, blogs, myspace, instant messenger, and the way you people all text like crazy... why is this necessary? Another gadget just to take more of your time to stop and say, "I'm picking my nose." This is supposed to be cool for adults? I guess I just don't get it. Let me know if this is anything earth shattering after using it for a bit.
