Upgrade

I occasionally monitor celebrity gossip; I find it amusing and depressing at the same time. Recently a broken romance caught my attention, but I am too lazy to find the links.

The gist is this: George Clooney was dating a cocktail waitress for about a year. Apparently she got a boob job of which he disapproved, or perhaps she was just past her sell-by date (long-term is not in his make up) She found out he had dumped her by reading it in a newspaper. Nice guy that Clooney.

What piqued my interest, however, was what she has been up to. Or who, anyway. Reports have her dating Jason Statham.

Girlfriend went from soggy quiche to prime rib*. Clooney may have more cash, but Statham has more of everything else.

Nice upgrade, Sara.

* I use prime rib rather than filet because, though Statham is all kinds of fine, he just strikes me as much more beefy and masculine than filet.

This will be a difficult pitch to sell with Vox and Michelle but I will try anyway. Sara was a cocktail waitress in Las Vegas - IMDB does not list her full bio but consider it a possibility that was all she was qualified to do.

For the past year, with Clooney, she has lived a life that (given her previous investment in education, career advancement, etc.), she could have only dreamed. Since her breakup with Clooney she has hit the celebrity radar, is dating a higher quality of men and presumably has career advancing prospects as well.

This is not a sexist remark. Look at K-Fed. If they are happy with their new station in life, they should also at least give a nod to the person that got them there.

Lastly, I am not talking about just celebrity. I have a lot of friends whose spouses are enjoying a life that they as individuals could not have acheived. Falling out of love should not be confused with the simply material loss of a lifestyle.

I agree that we probably wouldn't care what she was up to if she hadn't dated Clooney. Apparently, she did some reality show, which means a few people may have heard of her (and she had an interest in pursuing celebrity on some level for herself)

However, that wasn't the point of my post. My point was that Jason Statham is more attractive on most levels than Clooney. So, whether she has any sorts of skills or talents, her new boyfriend is hotter than her old one - a definite upgrade.

Sorry, Vox - My rant indicates a guy too tightly strung. I am in a MUCH better mood after the holiday weekend. Hope you enjoyed your 4th as well.

You are right Jason Statham is dreamy.
