Call Me

"When someone wants to give you money, don't make it difficult for them"

I have been trying to find some people to do some work at my house. I need my pool resurfaced, and I need my landscaping rescued. So I sent out a request to friends for any referrals they might have.

I got a couple of names for pool guys, all of whom have gone out of business. Luckily, one of them knew someone who they recommended - so I got a referral, once removed.

The landscaping has been trickier. I got a couple of promising leads, ones that even came with the assurance that "he'll return your calls" - not like the other guys. That is very important to me because the main reason my yard is in such bad shape is my inability to find reliable service. They don't return calls, they don't show up when they say they will, they don't do the job they promised to do.....

Well, I talked to both of the referrals. Both returned my calls and came to look at my property. Both set up times when they would call me back to give me their ideas and pricing.

I called each of them after their visit and they said they would call in the next two days. Neither one has called since. Weeks later - nothing.

I am looking to do a complete overhaul, front and back. This will be a large, and not inexpensive, job.

With all the complaining about the sluggish economy, it shouldn't be so hard to give someone money.

Guess I will start again. Do any of you have personal experience with a landscape designer that you would recommend?

I mean that you would really recommend - someone who won't flake out on me before they even start.

Yes - My parents have GREAT yard people and they have also just begun the resurfacing project on their pool. I will email you.
