Open Access?

I downloaded OpenOffice, which has most of the applications I need, but it doesn't seem to have a database program similar to Access.

Does anyone know if I have just missed the plug-in? Or, is there is another application you could point me to?

I just downloaded it myself to look at it and it appears that you want to use the OpenOffice.org Base program to work with Microsoft Access files.

BASE didn't download with my OpenOffice set up, and I can't find a way to get it on it's own.

I tried re-downloading, and still can't find the database. What is the frequency?

Now it gets weird. I downloaded it at the office, and BASE is there ready to use. It appears to be a much less robust DB than Access, but should be functional for what I need.

My home computer has the same OS, why is it not letting me run BASE.

Odd

Took the file I downloaded at work to my home computer - viola!

Now lets see if it was worth the extra steps

Hi there,
if you are in need of help for OpenOffice.org, check out this new support site - http://openoffice.screencast-tutorials.com/index

It offers help based on screencasts and smart search. It is only in beta testing, but should grow with the questions you ask.
