Whiskey Tango Foxtrot?

This is just a quick post because I am in a hurry, but I am so peeved I had to get this out there.

My boyfriend picked his son and a friend up from football practice this evening and planned to take them to a local sports bar for Buffalo Wings. He has done this before with friends. Today, they wouldn't allow them in because "he is not directly related to you" and so it is "against the law". Now, as I said, he has done this with other friends and no one ever asked a question. What made this different? Today the friend was black and so quite obviously not related.

I can't imagine this was a racist thing since I have seen other black/hispanic/what-have-you people in there on previous occasions. However, I have to question what law this guy was refering to, and why it has never been an issue in the past.

Anyone?

BTW: In case you are interested, it was Drivers Sports Bar at Litchfield and Indian School Rd.

UPDATE: I got confirmation on the law. The problem now is that we have been in violation of it almost every other time we have eaten there. We have sent the son in by himself to grab us a table, we allow him to go play pool and/or video games (the law states that minors have to stay right by their parent or legal guardian at all times), we have taken other kids, he has gone with other families (one of whom is all short little Mexicans and he is a tall blonde kid). If they are going to follow the letter of the law, they should be doing so consistently. Don't you think?
