Long Live Tigger & Piglet

On Friday we lost Paul Winchell, voice of Tigger since 1968.

Saturday we lost John Fiedler, voice of Piglet, also since 1968.

John Fiedler had a much larger career than 'just' the voice of a cartoon character, but the character he brought to life was so special and so loved by generations that it will probably be his strongest public legacy.

Paul Winchell's face is not one you would probably recognize, but reading his biography you certainly see his impact was also greater than a few animated movies (he invented an early artificial heart and a car that runs on battery power, among other things) though the cartoons may be his biggest 'hit'. BTW: Tigger has always been my favorite - he's bouncy, bouncy, bouncy, bouncy, fun, fun, fun, fun, fun - and the wonderful thing about Tiggers is, he's the only one!

Odd that Tigger and Piglet's voices would die so close together...they will be missed.
