Tragic Shooting Death

Our police here in Phoenix are often the butt of jokes, mostly because they have been accused of using excessive force in multiple situations. I personally feel that in the cases I have paid attention to they were fully justified.

Perhaps this explains why they would feel the need to respond with convincing force - they are in the line of fire every day. I am surprised this "suspect" was in one piece when they pulled him out, but they showed amazing restraint. If ever someone deserved to go out in a hail of gunfire....

BTW: the initial confrontation was apparently over $100 that the shooter said the first victim owed him. $100. He gave up his life and took two others with him - for $100.

Oh, and this is about a mile from my house...on the way home if I am at work, my girlfriends house or my mother's house. In fact, had I taken my usual route home from Mom's pool party Saturday I would have gone right past it - or gotten detoured around anyway. But I took the freeway for some reason - and avoided it.

UPDATE: For those looking for a way to show your support to the families of police officers and firemen lost in the line of duty, check out the 100 Club in your state. For those of you in Arizona, here is the 100 Club of Arizona

*shakes head* And you wonder why liberals who cater to this kind of cretin bemoan the fact that their ideas aren't taken seriously.

When I saw this on the news I kept thinking how we were just in that area dropping you off from the concert the night before.

This is soo sad and you are so right on your point about why coppers have to use a lot of force. They deal with so much danger. Not to mention they deal with just scum and people lying to them and hating them on a daily basis.

It kind of reminds me of what someone said in a movie - "People love firemen and wave at them but not cops. People should wave at cops."
