1. RE: Blogrolls - Do you link just because you were linked? Or do you link because you actually read it?

I set up a blogroll account, but haven't used it. It seems that too many sites are filled up with nothing but recipro-links. When I look to the sidebar for links, it's because I've liked what I found on that site and want more in the form of something that they enjoyed. When it is just an endless list I feel less confident that is what I'll find.

I link only what I read - if they are on my sidebar, I visit them regularly. Many daily, all at least weekly. That said, I have found a few of them because they linked to me or commented here. I wouldn't link someone just because they linked me, but it would get my attention and encourage me to check them out

I have been wanting to post on this topic for a while, and still may do something a bit more involved, but it is very late and I am very tired.....

2. RE: Stupid Quizzes: Do you do them? If you do - do you do them because you think they’re cute, fun and interesting? Or do you do them because you have absolutely no ideas in your head and have nothing else to blog about and you feel obligated to put something, anything up there?

I have done a few quizzes because they were amusing.
I tried a couple to fill blog space but found it less than satisfying.
Don't do them very often at all, but if I do them, know it is because it caught my attention.

3. RE: Other blogs - 5 (or more)blogs that have captured my attentions this week

This is a tough one. I can think of two right off the bat: Uptown Girl, who has her own answers to these questions posted. This is a good example of how to get linked here. Lori has mentioned the site a few times, good contrast Downtown Chick Chat / Uptown Girl. So I clicked...and I commented...and she commented (or vice versa)....and I found that I was visiting Uptown Girl every day or so. So I made her a button and added her to the side bar.

Through both Uptown Girl and Downtown Chick Chat, I found Just a Girl in the World. This is her quiz. I find myself checking back there regularly, too, so she may end up with a link as well.

Recently found Hardworking Americans, another Arizona blog. Plan to link, just haven't built her a button yet. Looks like she spent the weekend dealing with the same type of issues as me - only she wasn't the one infected.

Then there is Sound Fury, also an Arizona blogger who recently gave us a suggested staff list for the new Anti-Conservative Website.

Prior to that (sorry, well over a week ago) would be Jackalope Pursuivant (who has a great suggestion for a Tillman tribute) and Short Strange Trip (whose efforts at physical fitness actually have a point) - more blogs from the Grand Canyon State. I find these mainly through the efforts of "Edward Boyd" over at Zonitics. He is our Arizona Blog Father and he keeps us all informed.
