When I saw the end of the half-time show, all of which was well below par, I was unsure about what I saw. "Did that really just happen?"
I did, however, think that CBS handled it appropriately. Quick cut from the action and not a word about it for the rest of the game. Perfect, don't give them the press they are so desperate for.
Then they blew it - everyone releasing 'statements' to the press. They are appalled, they are shocked - they are feeding the fire. (yes, so am I - but how many readers do I have?)
So, here is my statement: It was obviously planned. Janet Jackson's career is nowhere (why did they even book her?) Justin Timberlake is so very "yawn". They hoped for an increase in press. They got it. Now let's let them continue their pathetic slide into the "where are they now" file.
